2019 McKesson & NorthStar Westgate Foundation Volunteering

Westgate Foundation is a community-based organisation providing an integrated range of services for older people including daycare, community catering, sheltered housing, transport, social and active retired club, social work, and counselling. Westgate Foundation employs a staff team of 60 people and enjoys the support of many volunteers. It is a registered charity and limited company and is funded through service income, fundraising, and government grants.

 

On Thursday 25th and Friday 26th of July, employees from NorthStar and McKesson volunteered to support, help paint rooms in the Westgate facility, and socialise with the Westgate clients. We have supported this charity in previous years and these are the comments of some of our volunteers;

 

“I thoroughly enjoyed Westgate charity event arranged by ELECT committee, I would like to thank everyone for arranging such an amazing event. The staff at Westgate were very helpful, and I really appreciated their hospitality while we were there for painting.”

“I had a great time while painting with my colleagues from Northstar and McKesson. It was a great feeling that I contributed my service to a charity organisation and fascinating to see Westgate staff are making such an effort to care for the senior citizens within the community.”
