What prompted you to choose this course?
My teammates! One of my colleagues, who had signed up for the course kindly shared the details. The course structure and content grabbed my attention as it all seemed relevant to my role. I’ve worked in McKesson Cork Finance Shared Services for the past five years and I’ve seen the department evolve as a global business services centre. The course subjects related to projects that I was working on and I saw it as an opportunity to develop my knowledge and skills.
What value did you find the course/training brought to your role in McKesson?
From completing the course I’ve gained a broader understanding of the structure and processes of established global business services centres. It has provided the tools and knowledge to apply a best-practice approach to projects that I am working on.
How did McKesson/Northstar help in reaching your educational goals?
I was fortunate to have the support of management and my colleagues in Cork Finance Shared Services while undertaking the course. While completing the coursework I got some great insights from colleagues, not only from the finance team, but I also had some very interesting conversations with colleagues in IT, project management and information security.
There is such a diverse skillset in the McKesson Cork office, and I’ve found that people are very generous with their time and willing to share their learnings. This went a long way with helping me to complete this course.
